Homework Information (scroll down for this week's list)
Students will have homework most nights and will be expected to turn it in the next day, unless otherwise noted. A homework calendar will be sent home each Monday, with the spelling words on the back, and it will also be listed on the class website.
Late work will be accepted but it will be marked down.
Reading logs:
Reading logs are sent home each Monday, and are due back Friday. Students should read a minimum of 30 minutes each night and complete the appropriate section of their log. The “parent signature” portion must be signed for each night.
Spelling:
Spelling pages will be sent home on Monday and are due back Friday. Usually, these pages come from our reading curriculum. There will be a spelling test Friday that will include some optional “challenge words”. It is up to you as a family how your child studies and practices for the test.
Math:
Most night students will have 1-2 pages of math to complete. These will usually be in their math practice book that must travel back and forth between home and school. Please do NOT tear out the pages. We will be correcting the homework together as a class.
Multiplication Facts:
Every Thursday there will be a multiplication fact quiz in class that increases in difficulty as students pass each level. Please help your child practice their facts at home.
Other:
Occasionally students will bring home an alternative homework assignment or project.
Free Homework Pass:
Students will sometimes earn a Free Homework Pass. These can be used for one assignment (one night of reading, one week of spelling, etc). They will still be expected to take any associated tests or quizzes.
